Back to 1983

With the time that I spent without any electronics I managed to get a lot more done than I expected. On of those was cleaning my room. Also I went out for a walk which really helped clear my mind. The main way of communicating was to not communicate at all. It just so happens I missed a day out with some friends. A bummer, to get the news I had to go to work with my mom and look for a newspaper wich was not easy. The best way of entertaining myself was jut to sleep, and do some exercise. I cant figure out what people use to do to have fun. Its not like I have anyone to play with. I would guess that people would just work for there fun, or golf, or maybe some dominos. But the truth is, I am very thankful for being born in this time. I think I would have joined the Corleone to have some fun, yeah not really.

One of the biggest surprises that came during the excessive was that I felt alone. It seemed that I talk to people all the time, whether by text or instant messaging. Thought the day it made me feel really cut off from the world. I could imagine how hard it was to get news to the public fast and efficiently. It seems that you would have to wait until the next newspaper to be able to find out what’s happening out in the world. These past few weeks we had a camera underwater and we had the opportunity to watch the BP oil spill live. It must have been really hard to be able transfer information and news to small towns that didn’t have the advantage of mail or radio.

The hardest thing to give up was my cell phone because that is my main way of communicating with not only friends but with my family. It seems that without having something with you to communicate with your family it might be easy to suggest that people were often thought to be lost rather than somewhere with no way of communicating to their families. The easiest thing to give up was my Xbox. I don’t play it often, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t miss it. All I simply did was to put it away so I would see it. Overall it seems that life before wouldn’t be impossible, but it would take time to get use to it.
